Shimoga: Former IPS officer and social activist Kiran Bedi today called upon universities to train and equip students in building a strong and sincere youth leadership in the country.
"Youth force is powerful. They should understand their strength and channelise engergies towards national reconstruction activities," she said while delivering the 18th Convocation address at the Kuvempu University here.
There was a need to provide effective education, congenial learning atmosphere and rich life skills to help students shape their future, Kiran Bedi suggested.
Educationist Shamanur Shivashanakrappa, well-known folk singer Shimgoa Subbanna, noted writer Baragur Ramachadnrappa were conferred honorary doctorate degrees on the occasion.
A total of 10,374 graduates along with 82 PhD, candidates received their degrees at the convocation.
