Patna: The anti-North Indian tirade by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leader Raj Thackeray today sparked uproarious scenes in Bihar legislative council leading to its adjournment after opposition members asked Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to lead an all-party delegation to Mumbai.
As soon as the House assembled for the day, RJD member and leader of the opposition Gulam Gaus raised the issue of alleged attack on some Biharis returning from Mumbai by train a couple of days ago.
Gaus was told by acting chairman Arun Kumar that he had already received a zero hour notice from RJD's Bhim Singh on the matter and that the issue could be raised then.
Referring to the incident during zero hour, Bhim Singh demanded that the Chief Minister lead a delegation to Mumbai to meet his Maharashtra counterpart Vilas Rao Deshmukh and ensure protection of lives and property of Biharis living there.
"The attack on Bihari passengers on a running train is a serious matter as this makes lakhs of people travelling by train vulnerable," Singh said.
To this, BJP's Ganga Prasad and Giriraj Singh contended that no purpose would be served by the Chief Minister's visit. "It is the Prime Minister who should intervene to normalise the situation since law and order is a state subject," he said. Source : PTI
