Moscow: Russian news reports say a man has thrown his two daughters from the ninth floor of a building in southern Siberia, then jumped himself after an argument with his wife.

The RIA-Novosti news agency says the 35-year-old man and his 11-year-old daughter died in the hospital. His 3-year-old is being treated for spinal injuries.

Prosecutors in the Altai region are quoted as saying that a preliminary investigation shows the incident happened after the man argued with his wife.

The incident occurred in Belokurikha, a ski-resort town located in the mountainous Altai region - about 3,000 kilometres east of Moscow.
