Days of UPA govt are numbered: Forward Bloc
Monday, March 10, 2008 11:55 [IST]
Raisen: The days of Congress-led UPA Government are numbered as the government has deviated from the issues on which the Left had extended support to it, Forward Bloc National General Secretary and MP Debobrat Biswas said here today.

"The Congress has deviated from the issues on which the United Progressive Alliance was formed. The economic policies of the party are not in the interest of nation and therefore the days of Congress-led UPA government are numbered," Biswas said.

Biswas was going to address a tribals rallies at Silwani and Begumganj tehsils of the district along with Samajwadi Party's Dr Suneelam.

He said that both BJP and Congress are more or less similar parties with no significant difference between them.

Regarding the "outsiders" issued raised by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray, Biswas said that it was nothing but political move to divide society.

"In Maharashtra attempts are being made by some vested interests to divide people on the basis of Marathi and non-Marathi while the same is being done in Orissa on the between Hindu and Christian tribals," he said

He urged the UPA government to intervene and ensure that such issues do not crop up.
