'Vote on basis of performance in Assembly polls'
Monday, March 10, 2008 12:37 [IST]
Srinagar: Senior People's Democratic Party (PDP) leader and Jammu and Kashmir Finance Minister Tariq Hameed Karra has appealed to people to vote for candidates in the upcoming Assembly elections on basis of their performance.

The coalition government of Congress and PDP during its rule of five years has done a lot on all fronts bringing about discernible and visible change on ground, Karra said while addressing a public meeting at Eidgah here yesterday.

Accusing the previous governments of exploiting people s sentiments, Karra added that the nation has full faith in the leadership of PDP patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed who always stood for the cause of people and strongly pleaded for good relations between India and Pakistan.

"It is by the virtue of his personal efforts that trade between the two countries is being revived", the minister said.
