Jammu: A day after he was expelled from PDP for anti-party activities, former minister and founder member Ghulam Hassan Mir today lashed out at the party calling it "undemocratic" and "dictatorial".
"The efforts to run the party on democratic lines are absent with decision-making confined to only one family of Muftis", Mir told PTI reacting to PDP's decision to expel him from primary membership of the party.
Mir, who represents Tangmarg constituency in the assembly, was expelled from the primary membership of the PDP for anti-party activities at a meeting of disciplinary committee headed by Agriculture Minister Abdul Aziz Zargar here yesterday.
He said that the party leadership had neither issued any showcause notice nor sought any explanation from him on the issue. "That is why I call it undemocratic and more dictatorial and the party has taken decision on whims and fancies of one family only," he said.
Meanwhile, about 40 supporters of Mir today held demonstration at Indira chowk here against PDP leadership for expelling Mir and they also burnt effigies of Mufti Mohammed Sayeed and Mehbooba Mufti.
