Elderly man axed to death by son
Monday, March 10, 2008 17:11 [IST]

RAJKOT: A 92-year-old man was allegedly axed to death by his son over the issue of farm land, at Kagdadi village in Bagasara Taluka of Amreli district.

Govindbhai Baldha was attacked by his third son Damji with an axe after a heated discussion over the sale of their farm land, on Sunday, police said.
The accused fled from the scene after the crime, police added.

Baldha, who had five sons, after the death of his eldest son, gave away six acres of land to each of his four sons, keeping with him the remaining 18 acres. The sons were living separately with their families.

Few days ago, Baldha had decided to sell off the 18 acres. Damji was against his decision, police said. A man hunt has been launched by the police to nab the accused.
