Wen Jiabao re-elected Chinese Premier

Beijing: Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao was today re-elected for another five-year term by the Communist giant's Parliament in a secret ballot. Wen, 66, has been the Chinese Premier since March 2003. He was earlier nominated at a plenary meeting of the National People's Congress (NPC), China's Parliament, as the sole candidate for the post in a letter signed by President Hu Jintao.

The Chinese Parliament also sealed the appointment of Guo Boxiong and Xu Caihou as vice-chairmen of the Central Military Commission (CMC), which is headed by President Hu. Both Guo and Xu are members of the all-powerful Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the ruling Communist Party of China. Wang Shengjun was elected President of the Supreme People's Court of China, official Xinhua news agency said.
