Imran cancels his visit to India
Sunday, March 16, 2008 13:44 [IST]

Lahore: Cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan has cancelled his visit to India because of his father's health condition.

Khan, leader of the Tehrik-e-Insaf party, was set to visit India to participate in a function organised by the India Today magazine.

However, he cancelled the visit due to illness of his father Ikramullah Khan (85), Tehrik-e-Insaf spokesman Omar Cheema said. Khan's father has been in the intensive care unit (ICU) of the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust Hospital for the past two weeks, Cheema said.

Khan may not be able to attend the first session of the new National Assembly on March 17 as a special guest, he said.
