Vijayawada: The BJP today said anti- Congress wave was sweeping all over the country.
"The Congress could win only one state when elections were held for 11 state assemblies, while the BJP won six states," party vice president Venkaiah Naidu, who was here to participate in a rally Rythu poru Bata (Farmers agitation path) at Jaggaiahpet, told reporters.
Congress had been making big promises, he said, adding the loan relief to farmers indicated that elections would be held before the scheduled time. "Congress did not think of giving debt relief to farmers for the last four years and now suddenly it had taken this decision," Venkaiah said.
He said the debt relief should be comprehensive and be applicable to all farmers in the country. On the removal of Telugu Desam party founder and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N T Ramarao's name from the new international airport at Shamshabad, he said it should not have happened. "When we come to power again it would be named after NTR," he said.
