Madurai: The Election Commission will issue new Electors Photo Identity Card (EPIC) in the size of ATM cards soon, Chief Electoral Officer Naresh Gupta said today. The CEO, who reviewed the works relating to formation of new Assembly and Parliament constituencies as per Election Commission orders, told reporters here the new EPIC would carry the date of birth of the voters.

He said Tamil Nadu would be divided into five zones and one observer would be appointed for each zone to take care of the work relating to selecting polling booth sites, finding out the sensitive booths etc. Works on the voters registration centre, the new voters list and new polling booths for the delimited constituencies would be completed on June 21.

District Collectors of Madurai, Dindigul, Theni, Virdhunagar, Ramanathapuram, Sivagangai and Dharmapuri participated in the meeting.
