Sunday, March 16, 2008 15:43 [IST]

Islamabad: Ten people were killed and four missing after a passenger truck fell into a deep ravine early Sunday in Pakistan's North-West Frontier Province, media reported.

The open-back truck, used for public transport in mountainous Abbottabad district, was carrying 14 people including the driver when it fell nearly 1,000 metres into a canyon, Aaj TV reported.

Authorities had retrieved 10 bodies from the site. Roads in the mountainous region are in poor condition.
