Monday, March 17, 2008 13:07 [IST]
Kandahar: An Afghan police chief said a suicide car bomber attacked international troops in Helmand province, killing three Afghan civilians.

Helmand provincial police chief Mohammad Hussein Andiwal said the suicide car bomber exploded near a military convoy in Gereshk district, killing three civilians and wounding seven others.

Andiwal said he has no information on the status of the military forces. A spokesman at NATO's International Security Assistance Force said he has no immediate information.

Most troops in Helmand are British, but small teams of US Special Forces soldiers also operate there.
