Six CPN-UML workers injured in Maoist attack
Monday, March 17, 2008 21:48 [IST]
Kathmandu: At least six activists of the Communist Party of Nepal-UML were injured in an attack allegedly by Maoist cadres at an election rally in the country's south today.

Activists of the Maoist youth wing, Young Communist League (YCL), attacked its activists at Khurkure in Chitwan district, the CPN-UML alleged.

It said at least six party workers were injured in the attack, during which the Maoists used crow bars and lathis.

As Nepal readies for crucial Constituent Assembly polls on April 10, various parties have alleged increasing attacks by Maoists on their workers in recent days.
