Kuwaiti cabinet resigns after one year in office
Monday, March 17, 2008 23:45 [IST]

Kuwait City: All ministers in the Kuwaiti cabinet submitted their resignations to the prime minister Monday after a year in office marred by political battles with parliament. Acting on behalf of the ministers, the defence minister submitted the collective resignations, saying parliament was not cooperating with them, al-Arabiya television reported.

Ministers have repeatedly faced questioning in parliament over the running of ministries. The prime minister would have to submit the resignation of his cabinet to the country's emir, who has the option of dissolving parliament and holding an early election.
