New York: Elton John is to give a solo fundraising concert in New York next month for Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton, under the unlikely billing "Elton and Hillary: One Night Only."

The April 9 concert at Manhattan's pre-war Radio City Music Hall will be the British pop icon s first public solo concert in New York City without his band since he performed alone at Madison Square Garden in 2000.

"I m not a politician but I believe in the work that Hillary Clinton does," John said in a statement announcing the fundraiser. "I m excited to support Hillary by performing at what will be a truly memorable night."

Tickets for the fundraiser start at 125 dollars.

Clinton s celebrity supporters include Hollywood icon Jack Nicholson and basketball legend Magic Johnson, while Obama has hit back with chat-show queen Oprah Winfrey and Oscar-winning actors Robert De Niro and Forest Whitaker.
