Tuesday, March 18, 2008 16:30 [IST]
Islamabad: A Mirage fighter jet of the Pakistan Air Force crashed in Punjab province though the pilot escaped without injuries.

There were no reports of damage on the ground when the jet crashed 22 kilometres west of Rajanpur city in the southwestern part of Punjab.

Initial reports suggested that the aircraft went down due to a technical fault. The air force ordered an inquiry to determine the exact cause of the accident.
