Kathmandu: The Maoists today blocked roads of Kathmandu for an hour in protest against the alleged import of weapons from India to the capital of Himalayan nation. The Maoists also claimed to have seized two trucks of weapons, which were being brought to Kathmandu by armed police force.
Meanwhile, three CPN-Maoist cadres were arrested by the Kathmandu police yesterday from Rolpa district. The persons arrested were identified as Rolpa company commander Palav Pun, platoon vice-commander Jeevan Nepali and section commander Sahadev Chaudhary, officials said.
The police have seized one AK47,INSAS rifles and their bullets from their possession. They were arrested during a search operation for electoral assembly of CPN-UML at the local Gharti village in the district.
