Wednesday, March 26, 2008 08:58 [IST]

pranab_01Washington: External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee has invited US Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice to visit India at a mutually convenient date, and she has accepted the invitation.

Announcing this on Tuesday at the end of his two-day visit to the US, Mukherjee paid rich tributes to US President George W. Bush, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Rice for their personal contribution in giving momentum to India-US relations in recent years.

"Although India-US relations have a strong dynamic and logic of their own resulting in the kind of momentum we have witnessed in recent years, I would like to pay a tribute to the personal contribution, of President Bush, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Secretary Rice to this process," he said at a press conference before leaving for home.
