ISI continues to train terror groups: Narayanan
Wednesday, March 26, 2008 22:11 [IST]
New Delhi: India today said Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence still continues to train terror groups and it will be under their attacks.

"There is no change in the attitude of the ISI to train terror groups like the Lashkar-e-Taiba and the Jaish-e-Mohammad. Their attacks are likely to continue," National Security Advisor M K Narayanan said here.

Delivering the 25th P. C. Lal memorial lecture on "Managing India's National Security Building a Consensus for the 21st Century", he hoped that the new government in Pakistan "will lead to stable conditions and weaken the forces of fundamentalism".

"We are fully committed to continuing the CBMs with Pakistan and would like to further improve relations in other areas," Narayanan said.

He said Pakistan also continued to acquire missiles and other weapons and its military strategy remains India-centric.

"One of the greatest dangers India faced was the terror camps being run on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border by the Al Qaeda and the Taliban," Narayanan said.
