Islamabad: Pakistan has rejected a proposal from the US Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) to help in conducting Pakistani geological survey and preparation of maps.

The Ministry of Defence, in a circular, directed all departments not to accept such proposal from any foreign institution as it may be a security risk, The News reported.

As per the circular, the US Geological Survey and the NRL offered their services for conducting Pakistani geological survey and preparation of maps.

The government of Pakistan, after consultation with the Ministry of Defence and other departments, rejected this proposal and briefed the administrations of all districts through the Department of Planning and Development.
