OBC quota: HRD Minister hopes for positive outcome
Friday, March 28, 2008 14:49 [IST]

New Delhi: With the OBC quota issue in premier institutions like IIMs and IITs stuck in the Supreme Court, HRD Minister Arjun Singh today hoped for a positive outcome.

"Please pray for it," was his response when a reporter asked him whether the OBC reservation would come into force from the coming academic session.

The apex court has reserved its verdict on the issue. Singh, a champion of the OBC cause, had said that "we should be able to convince the Supreme Court what India wants and efforts in this regard have to be pursued with dedication".
