Shimla: Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal today reacting to former CM Virbhadra Singh's comment that Congress virtually gave power to BJP in Himachal Pradesh on "platter", termed it as a "voice of a frustrated politician."
"There is nothing serious in it. It is a remark of a leader who is not liked by his own partymen", Dhumal told reporters here without naming the Congress leader.
The grand old party (Congress) was thrown out of power as it failed to deliver goods to the common man, it was not working for the welfare of the common man, Dhumal added.
Taking potshots at his predecessor's claim that increase in social security and daily wages was Congress's agenda, Dhumal asked, "then why the same was not done during Congress's rule?"
Dhumal, who took charge of the state for the second time after BJP s victory in assembly elections last year, said, "The BJP government is getting tremendous support from the common man because of its people-friendly approach and this is causing heartburn among the Congressmen".
Singh, five time chief minister of the hilly state in the past, had said yesterday Congress virtually gave power to the BJP on the platter.
He had blamed the defeat in assembly elections on party leaders preoccupation with simultaneous polls in Gujarat and faulty ticket distribution. Source : PTI
