Bush for international agreement on environment
Saturday, March 29, 2008 01:01 [IST]

Washington: President George W Bush today emphasised on inclusion of India and china for any meaningful international agreement on the environment. Bush made this view on the issue at a media interaction along with the Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd at the White House.

"We talked about environment and energy. There's an interesting moment for all of us to recognise that we can become less dependent, in our case on foreign oil, and at the same time be good stewards of the environment. And we talked about the need to work collaboratively to achieve an international agreement in which the United States is at the table along with developing nations like China and India," Bush said. "For an effective international agreement, China and India must be participants," Bush stressed.
