Dubai: In yet another case of exploitation, nearly 200 Indians workers, not been paid salaries for the last nine months, are fighting an uphill task to recover their dues from a firm here that claims to have gone bankrupt.
The workers of a cleaning company in Dubai are running from pillar to post to claim their dues and have approached the Indian consulate and the UAE Ministry of Labour, which has proved to be of little help.
The company is already blacklisted by the ministry for not following the countrys labour rules.
Indian social workers here said the company asked the workers to go home or fight it out in court.
They say even the intervention by the Indian consulate has not helped.
With no money to buy even basic essential items, the workers are being provided food by the Indian consulate and a local grocer.
