Zawahiri interview due out soon: Reports
Thursday, April 03, 2008 02:01 [IST]

Dubai: A new video of al-Qaeda's number two Ayman al-Zawahiri, in which he answers questions put via the Internet, will be released soon, the IntelCenter monitoring group said today.

The media conduit of the terror network, As-Sahab, announced it will post a video of Zawahiri in which he answers questions previously addressed to him through the Internet, the US-based monitoring group said.

It said the video will be posted within 72 hours.

The video will be the first round of answers to the questions sent over a period of one month in an open interview through the Internet announced on December 16,it said.

The video will likely be posted on an Islamist militant website.

An announcement of the interview appeared on al-Hesbah website, which is used by Islamist militant groups, but it did not clarify the nature of the recording, and said it will be aired "soon" without giving a timeline.

Zawahiri resurfaced last in an Internet audiotape posted on March 24,in which he called for new strikes against Jewish and American interests.

The expected tape would be Zawahiri's third public message this year.
