Friday, April 04, 2008 17:54 [IST]
Kathmandu: A Nepali Congress candidate's house was bombed and another explosion left five persons injured in continuing pre-poll violence in Nepal.

A powerful bomb went off at the house belonging to Ajaya Pratap Chaurasiya, Nepali Congress candidate from Parsa district constituency 3, in Birgunj district bordering India last evening, police said.

However, no one was injured and the blast caused only minor damage to the house, police said. Five people were injured in another explosion at Birgunj Bus Park ahead of the April 10 Constituent Assembly poll.

Three of the injured have sustained serious injuries and they were being brought to Kathmandu for further treatment.
