London: Notorious for her short temper, supermodel Naomi Campbell today found herself at the centre of another row after she allegedly "spat" at a police officer at the Heathrow airport. Campbell, who has a forgettable history of losing her temper to get on the wrong side of the law, was briefly detained after she allegedly assaulted a cop following a verbal altercation onboard a flight to United States.
Though this time around, the 37-year-old British celebrity had some reason to behave the way she allegedly did as she had reportedly lost her bag, the drama on the plane got such that Campbell had to be handcuffed, and pilot had to apologise to passengers who heard her screams.
After being detained at airport's terminal five, Campbell was released on bail pending further inquiries soon after, British media reported.
A British Airports Authority (BAA) spokeswoman at Heathrow was quoted as saying: "Police today boarded a British Airways plane and removed a passenger."
Elaborating on the incident, Campbell's spokeswoman said that she had checked in two bags but was then told that one had been lost.
"She arrived at Heathrow Terminal five in plenty of time, checked her two bags in and was told they would make the flight. Once on the plane she was told one bag could not be found and was missing," spokeswoman Annabel Fox was quoted as saying by local media.
