Three bomb explosions in Kathmandu

Kathmandu; Three near simultaneous explosions rocked Kathmandu tonight, but no casualties were reported from the blasts, police said.

The attacks came ahead of the April 10 election for the Constituent Assembly, which will rewrite the constitution and decide on Nepal's future political system.

A bomb exploded near the District Election Office at Pulchowk in the capital while another went off near the office of the Local Development Ministry at Pulchowk, police said.

The third bomb went off near a bridge at Thapathali in Kathmandu.

Noone has claimed responsibility for the bombings.

Security has been alerted in the capital following the explosions. Police were still investigating the explosions.
