Bangalore: The family of Indian doctor Sabeel Ahmed, who is being deported back after serving 18 months in jail in connection with the plot to blow up Glasgow airport in London, is happy that the wait for him has finally ended.
"I am happy that Sabeel is coming back. I am just waiting to see my son after very very long time," the 26-year-old's mother Zakia Ahmed said.
She thanked "Allah for being merciful to our family. We always had faith in Him and He has answered our prayers".
Sabeel's sister Sabia Ahmed, who is in final year MBBS, said, "I am anxious to see my brother. We have gone through a lot. Allah has blessed our family with patience and strength".
Sabeel was sentenced to 18 months in jail after pleading guilty to withholding information about his brother's suicide plot to blow up Glasgow airport in June last year, but is being deported back to India because of the time served on remand. Source : PTI
