Mosul, Iraq: A car bomb ripped through a military vehicle in northern Iraq on today, killing 12 members of Iraq s Kurdish peshmerga forces and wounding two more, local police said.
The attack took place near the town of Rabiyah, 120 kilometres northwest of Iraq s main northern city of Mosul and close to the Syrian border, the official said, declining to be named.
The Kurdish security forces form part of the Iraqi army.
