Kathmandu: The CPN-UML, which held seven cabinet posts, including that of foreign affairs, in Nepal's seven party ruling alliance today pulled out from the interim government after severe drubbing in the recent constituent assembly polls.
All the seven ministers representing UML in the coalition government submitted their resignation to the Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala today. The joint resignation letter stated that they had decided to quit the government in line with the peoples mandate in favour of the CPN-Maoists. The resignation later was signed by minister of foreign affairs Sahana Pradhan, minister for tourism and civil aviation Prithvi Subba Gurung, minister for agriculture and cooperatives Chhabilal Biswakarma, minister for general administration Ram Chandra Yadav, minister of education and sports Pradeep Nepal, state ministers Mohan Singh Rathour and Nagendra Prasad Chaudhary, local media reports said.
