Paris: The head of Interpol is warning of the "real possibility" of violent acts at the Beijing Olympics.
Ronald Noble said recent protests on the Olympic torch relay route and reports of thwarted plots in Chinese media suggest that protesters could try to disrupt the Games in August.
Noble said such attacks could involve efforts to lock transportation routes, interfere with competitions, assault Olympic participants or destroy property.
Noble was speaking at an international security conference in Beijing, according to a statement by Lyon, France-based Interpol released today. Source : PTI
