K'taka polls: Bangalore south leads voters' count

Bangalore: Bangalore South assembly segment has the highest number of electors at 3,74,833 in Karnataka.

K R Puram (3,08,407) and Sarvagna Nagar (3,01,796) segments from Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagar Pallike (BBMP) has the second and third highest number of electors, according to statistics released by the state election office here ahead of the next month's assembly elections in the state.

District wise, BBMP has the higest number of voters at 46,93,233 followed by Belgaum at 28,96,458 and Gulbarga 24,24,665.

Kudachi assembly segment in Belgaum has the lowest number of voters (1,35,875) followed by Kaup 1,37,267 in Udupi and Sandur 1,37,810 in Bellary district.

BBMP also has the highest number of assembly segments (28) followed by Belgaum (18) and Gulbarga (13).

Nearly 34 assembly segments have more than two lakh voters. Sarvagnagar in BBMP had the highest number of women electors (1,47,331).

The state has 4,00,77,666 voters including 2,03,99,338 men and 1,96,78,328 women.
