Clearing CAT could be a mouse-click away
Saturday, April 26, 2008 17:04 [IST]

Ahmedabad: The Common Entrance Test (CAT) for the management courses is likely to go online from 2009.

"We were planning to make CAT online from 2008, but since we have only eight months left for the test, it might not be possible this year. But it will be online from 2009," IIM-A Director Sameer Barua said.

"We are in talks with service providers on the issue of converting CAT into an on-line exams," Barua said.

"The service providers will charge anything from Rs 900 to Rs 1,000 for a candidate. The income of IIMs due to the large number of students appearing for the CAT test will be negligible as the current charges of appearing for the CAT test is Rs 1,500 per student," he added.

Thousands of students appear for the CAT exams every year across India.
