Hoshiarpur: Punjab's ruling Shiromani Akali Dal and BJP would jointly contest Zila Parishad and Block Samitis elections here on their respective party symbols.

Minister for Medical Education and Research, Parliamentary Affairs, Labour and Forest and Wild Life Tikshan Sud told reporters here that out of 204 zones of 10 Block Samitis, 86 had been allotted to BJP while 112 to SAD. A decision on six is yet to be taken.

Similarly, out of 24 Zones of Zila Parishad, six had been allotted to BJP and 14 to SAD. The decision on four is yet to be made. The decision for six zones of Panchayat Samitis and four of Zila Parishad would be done in next two to three days.
