Peaceful bandh in Tamil Nadu
Friday, May 02, 2008 18:02 [IST]
Chennai: BJP sponsored nationwide strike against price rise did not have any impact in Tamil Nadu with shops remaining open all over the state and state transport services plying normally.

Police said there was no disruption of normal life anywhere in the state.

In Coimbatore, some 130 BJP workers were taken into custody when they attempted to stage picketing to protest the "failure of UPA government to rein in rising prices" of essential commodities.
