Ten killed in Assam mishap

Dibrugarh: Ten people belonging to a marriage party were killed and 20 others injured when their bus collided with a truck in Upper Assam's Lakhimpur district today.

The mishap took place at Bahbari in the wee hours, District Superintendent of Police A Karim said.

Nine died on the spot while another succumbed to injuries in a hospital.

The 20 injured, including five seriously, were admitted to Lakhimpur and Harmoti civil hospitals.

The victims were returning after attending a wedding party.
