New Delhi: The Supreme Court today stayed the proceeding of the Enforcement Directorate against former external affairs minister K Natwar Singh and his son Jagat Singh in the "oil-for-food" scandal.

A bench of Justices B N Agarwal and G S Singhvi issued notices to the Union Government and the Enforcement Directorate on the former minister's petition challenging the investigation conducted against him by the ED officials.

The ED officials are probing Natwar Singh's alleged involvement in the scandal as pointed out by the Justice R S Pathak committee.
