Panaji/Bhubaneswar: Raja alias Sandip Acharya, the main suspect in the murder of 'marathon kid' Budhia Singh's former coach Biranchi Das, was on Monday arrested in Goa, police said.

"Raja has been arrested in Goa and a police party is already on its way to bring him back to Orissa," Bhubaneswar Police Commissioner Binoy Behera said.

Das was shot dead April 13 outside a judo training hall in Bhubaneswar. Raja, who faces over 30 cases of extortion, murder and kidnapping, is the prime suspect in the case.

A man, Chhagla, claiming to be one of the killers, surrendered to the police in Bhopal April 22.

The sub-divisional judicial magistrate (SDJM) court in Bhubaneswar Saturday declared Raja an absconder and issued non-bailable warrants against him.
