Paris: A police official says dozens of hooded attackers invaded a middle school outside Paris, spraying students and staff with tear gas.
Three people were slightly wounded in yesterday's attack in the town of Pontoise, northwest of the French capital. The official says the injured spent several hours in a hospital.
The attackers fled before police arrived on the scene, and no arrests were made.
The police official says the attack may have come in response to a recent soccer match between two of the town's neighborhood teams. But the official could not confirm that, and he declined to be named, in accordance with police policy.
