Patna: Bihar government would recommend a CBI probe into alleged mysterious disappearance of Archana Rani, daughter of Additional District and Sessions Judge Subhash Chandra Prasad, while travelling with her husband in a train between Katihar and Mokama stations on August 15 last year.
"We will recommend a CBI inquiry into her mysterious disappearance soon", state Home department sources said today.
Rani's mother and her brother Ravishankar met chief minister Nitish Kumar yesterday and demanded a CBI inquiry into the case.
She had threatened that all her entire family members would be compelled to commit immolation before the CM's bungalow, if the inquiry was not ordered.
She alleged that the role of the state police in the investigation had been "dubious" and pointed out that railway police had concluded it to be a case of murder.
The Gandhi Maidan police station here was trying to dismiss it as a case of kidnapping, she alleged.
The chief minister had referred to matter to the Director General of Police Shivchandra Jha. Source : PTI
