Patna: Two persons, wanted in connection with several criminal cases, were arrested from Patna district last night, Superintendent of police (rural) Upendra Kumar Sinha said.
Acting on a tip-off, police raided Mori village and arrested Bhusan Singh, a self-styled area commander of banned Ranvir Sena, a private militia of landlords.
Singh was wanted in connection with several criminal offences relating to extortion, kidnapping and murder in Patna and its adjoining areas, Sinha said. One pistol and six rounds of ammunition were seized from his possession, he said. Ramesh Paswan, a hardcore activist of the CPI(ML), was also arrested from Azma village in the neighbouring Naubatpur police station area of the district last night, the SP said.
A pistol and a cartidge were recovered from him.
Ramesh was wanted in connection with more than ten criminal cases, he added. Source : PTI
