Envoys to brief Dalai on China talks tomorrow
Tuesday, May 06, 2008 16:59 [IST]

Dharamsala: The Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama's two envoys who held talks with the Chinese government will update him on Wednesday about the outcome, a spokesman of the Tibetan government-in-exile said here.

"The two envoys, Kasur Lodi Gyaltsen Gyari and Kelsang Gyaltsen, who held discussions with the Chinese authorities on May 3 in Schenzen (South China) will arrive here on Wednesday and will meet his holiness the Dalai Lama the same day," the official said Tuesday.

"On Thursday, they will brief the media," he said.

The talks ended without any breakthrough between the two sides, but they said more such talks would be held soon though no date was specified.

This was the seventh round of talks between the two sides since 2002.

The Chinese state media has once again accused the Dalai Lama of inciting the anti-China protests in Tibet since March, a charge he has denied many times.

The Chinese also accused the Tibetan Youth Congress (TYC) of having links with terrorist outfits such as the Al Qaeda.

The Dalai Lama's official representative in New Delhi Tempa Tsering Tuesday said the accusations were "baseless" and that China should not indulge in "such shocking propaganda" without any evidence.
