Two policemen shot dead in Quetta

Islamabad: Two policemen were shot dead by unidentified gunmen on a busy thoroughfare in the southwestern Pakistani city of Quetta today.

The policemen were on a routine patrol on Sariab Road when the assialnats sprayed bullets on them and disappeared from the scene, Deputy Inspector General of Police Rehmatullah Niazi told reporters.

Head Constable Noor Ahmed and Constable Muhammad Nasir died on the spot. The owner of a roadside kiosk was also hit by bullets and was admitted to hospital.

No one has claimed responsibility for the attack in Balochistan capital.
