Nagpur: Maharashtra unit of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) would start its enrolling process in the state from May 19, its newly appointed state president Charan Singh Thakur said.
The party plans to enroll about five lakh members across Maharashtra, he said adding the membership drive will be launched on the occasion of Buddha Jayanti and would take about two months time to complete, including appointment of district unit presidents.
Union Railway Minister and RJD President Lalu Prasad Yadav will visit Amravati in Vidarbha region on July 1 and will address a party workers convention in Yavatmal soon, Thakur said.
Also, a party delegation will meet Yadav to ask him to extend the rail network in Vidarbha region and complete the pending projects like Amravati-Narkhed link route, he added. Source : PTI
