Imphal: A powerful grenade was found in the official residence of Manipur Health Minister Ph. Parijat at Kanglaipark area in Imphal West district today, official sources said.

The grenade connected by a wire to a remote control device was detected by a worker this morning.

It was later defused by experts. The sources said the explosive might have been planted taking advantage of the absence of the minister.

The minister along with his family members and security guards had left for Lamlai area in Imphal East district yesterday for a marriage ceremony.
