K'taka polls: BSP to move EC against Congress
Thursday, May 08, 2008 15:07 [IST]

Bangalore: The BSP has said it would petition the Election Commission to take note of the expenditure incurred by Congress on its rally addressed by AICC chief Sonia Gandhi in Krishnarajapuram constituency in the city yesterday.

BSP candidate T J Abraham, who is contesting from this constituency, claimed that at least Rs 30 lakh had been spent on the rally and wanted to know from the EC whether it would be billed to the poll expenditure of Congress candidate A Krishnappa.

At a press meet here today, he also pointed out that the upper ceiling limit of expenditure fixed by the Election Commission for a candidate in assembly election is Rs ten lakh.
