Bangalore: Taking a cue from their leaders, youth supporters of various political parties in Karnataka are on a mission of victory.
Engaged in door-to-door publicity, these youths have really taken a hard task of 'convincing people' in their support.
The voting for the first phase of Karnataka polls took-ff today morning, with ex-CM Kumaraswamy in the fray.
These youth 'cheerleaders' come with no formal training, but still manage to perform mammoth role for their leaders. They cheer at the right time and scream the name of the party at the right decibels, all the while driving home the name of the candidate to voters.
Drawn, mainly, from the slums or middle-class locality, this youth force rallies with the party candidate, as he campaigns from one locality to another for votes.
Hired on the daily-basis, they get around Rs 100-200 per day for a work that could stretch into long hours.
Marked by a sense of unbridled enthusiasm, these teams are basically entrusted the task of drawing attention of the voters, or announcing the arrival of the candidates with the customary slogan shouting.
