Seven shops gutted in fire in Delhi

New Delhi: Seven shops were gutted when a fire broke out in the Chandni Chowk area of north Delhi in the wee hours today. The blaze was reported at 4:33 am, a fire brigade official said.

Seventeen fire tenders were pressed into service, which took almost three hours to douse the blaze, they said adding seven shops were destroyed in the blaze.

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
